The Traitors<\/a><\/em> is inviting everyday people to the Scottish Highlands as NBC has officially greenlit its first-ever civilian season of the Emmy-winning series.<\/p>\n Hosted once again by Alan Cumming<\/strong>, who is the face of the U.S. version of the franchise, this new installment will see everyday Americans step into roles that have only so far been filled by reality stars like Survivor’s<\/em> Boston “Rob” Mariano<\/strong>, Real Housewives’ <\/em>Phaedra Parks<\/strong> and the most hated man in America at one point, Tom Sandoval <\/strong>of Vanderpump Rules<\/em>.<\/p>\n Filming is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 at the iconic Ardross Castle where they also film the celebrity version and the U.K. installments.\u00a0This civilian spin mirrors versions in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, all of which have leaned heavily on “regular” contestants instead of notable names.<\/p>\n “We\u2019re excited to bring along The Traitors’<\/em> highly addictive fan base as we discover the next generation of legendary gamers and schemers,\u201d Sharon Vuong<\/strong>, executive vice president of unscripted programming, NBCUniversal Entertainment, said. “With our resident host and gameplay master of ceremonies, Alan Cumming, on board to introduce complete strangers to new epic missions and twisted gameplay, this new version for NBC offers a unique opportunity for the cast and audience to meet each other for the first time and we know it will be incredible to watch.”<\/p>\n Cumming talked about his excitement for the new spinoff at\u00a0Televerse 2025, according to Variety<\/a><\/em>, saying, \u201cThe money will mean more to them\u2026 I\u2019m pretty excited about it. I think it\u2019s going to be a hoot.”<\/p>\n Casting is now underway, and open to U.S. residents 21 and older.
