There is no shortage of fan theories floating around online in the \u201cSeverance\u201d fandom.<\/p>\n

Speculation abounds about characters\u2019 true identities (Was that really Helly R. at the end of Season 2?), their loyalties (Is that menace we sense from Christopher Walken<\/a>\u2019s Burt Goodman?) and their purposes at Lumon (Goats<\/a>? Macrodata refinement?). We could go on.<\/p>\n

But director and executive producer Ben Stiller<\/a>, Emmy-nominated this year for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, at least cleared up one fan theory on Monday\u2019s podcast episode of \u201cWtf With Marc Maron,\u201d shutting down the suggestion that the severed \u201cinnie\u201d employees of Lumon are actually lowering to Hell when they get in the elevator and descend to the severed floor.<\/p>\n
