Both the original star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and the new slayer, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, have been spotted on set. The pair has even shared videos of their slayerific workouts. But despite rumors, one classic Buffyverse cast member won\u2019t be returning. At least, not yet. Via <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/comicbook.com\/tv-shows\/news\/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-reboot-charisma-carpenter-wont-be-back\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Comic Book;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Comic Book<\/a><\/em>, we\u2019ve learned that Charisma Carpenter, who played \u201cmean girl\u201d turned Slayer ally Cordelia Chase on both <em>Buffy<\/em> and <em>Angel,<\/em> is not a part of the new <em>Buffy <\/em>series. But Charisma Carpenter maintains that it is not the case. We should note that just because Charisma Carpenter\u2019s Cordelia isn\u2019t in the pilot of the <em>Buffy<\/em> reboot, or even the first season, doesn\u2019t mean her character won\u2019t ever return. Sarah Michelle Gellar has maintained that she wants every former major cast member to return at some point. Even <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/sarah-michelle-gellar-wants-to-bring-back-dead-characters-for-the-buffy-reboot\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:those characters who have died;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">those characters who have died<\/a>. And that includes Cordelia, who died in the 100th episode of <em>Angel<\/em> back in 2004.
