The show\u2019s UK broadcaster, Channel 4, dropped a teaser video on August 14, confirming the hit show would be back on our screens soon.<\/p>\n<p>The promo doesn\u2019t give anything away in terms of contestants or what viewers might see on the upcoming season. An abakening, if you will,\u201d Wilkinson says in the voice-over as animated versions of hosts <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/noel-fielding\/\">Noel Fielding<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/alison-hammond\/\">Alison Hammond<\/a> appear on-screen. Judge <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/prue-leith\/\">Prue Leith<\/a> is also spotted with her trademark hairstyle and glasses on a cartoon sun.<\/p>\n<p>The video ends on a close-up of an eye before zooming out to reveal Hollywood standing in the kitchen. \u201cOnce there was nothing, then there was Bake Off,\u201d Wilkinson concludes.<\/p>\n<h3>Did You Spot the Easter Egg?<\/h3>\n<p>While the trailer didn\u2019t include any footage of the new season, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a very funny easter egg.<\/p>\n<p>The clip featured an animated snail, which many picked up as a reference to former contestant Julia Chernogorova\u2019s infamous bread sculpture \u201cThe Snail Under a Mushroom.\u201d The moment became iconic when the judges and viewers at home described the bread snail as looking \u201cphallic.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1209551\" style=\"width: 970px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-1209551\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Channel 4 YouTube<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cJulia\u2019s snail! What an honor!!\u201d commented one fan on the latest trailer, whie another added, \u201cNot that snail again!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey, was that a penis snail?\u201d quipped another.<\/p>\n<h3>Is There A Release Date?<\/h3>\n<p>Not yet! However, the show typically premieres around mid to late September, with episodes first airing in the UK on a Tuesday and then dropping on Netflix for viewers in the US on Fridays.<\/p>\n<p>For reference, the last season premiered on September 24, 2024, and the season before that debuted on September 26, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that this is the sixteenth season of the Baking Show; however, the Netflix numbering is slightly different, as the first four seasons didn\u2019t initially air in the US. Therefore, Netflix will categorize the upcoming season as Collection 13.<\/p>\n<h3>Do We Know The Cast?<\/h3>\n<p>An official cast announcement hasn\u2019t been made just yet, but it should be rapidly approaching. Channel 4 in the UK usually unveils the new set of bakers a few weeks before the premiere. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn\u2019t had a holiday in the summer for eight years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve only given up the celebrity, I haven\u2019t given up,\u201d she continued. \u201cI still do the\u00a0<em>Great American Bake Off,<\/em> which we\u2019re filming at the moment.
