Aubrey Plaza is opening up about her life after the death of her husband, Jeff Baena.<\/a><\/p>\n

The \u201cWhite Lotus\u201d star is a guest on the latest episode of her friend and former \u201cParks and Recreation\u201d costar Amy Poehler\u2019s podcast, \u201cGood Hang.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Baena, a writer and director, died by suicide in January. He was 47.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of all the people who feel like they know you, and the people who do know you, how are you feeling today?\u201d Poehler asked Plaza.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,\u201d Plaza responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m here and I\u2019m functioning,\u201d she continued. \u201cI feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I\u2019m okay, but it\u2019s like a daily struggle, obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baena was well known in Hollywood for several projects, including co-writing the 2004 film, \u201cI Heart Huckabees.<\/p>\n

He and Plaza worked together on the 2014 horror-comedy, \u201cLife After Beth,\u201d the 2021 comedy series, \u201cCinema Toast,\u201d and the 2022 film, \u201cSpin Me Round.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the podcast, Plaza compared her grief to the recent film \u201cThe Gorge,\u201d which stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, among others.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like [an] alien movie or something with Miles Teller,\u201d Plaza said. \u201cIn the movie, there\u2019s like a cliff on one side and there\u2019s a cliff on the other side, then there\u2019s gorge in between and it\u2019s filled with all these like monster people that are trying to get them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI swear when I watched it, I was like that feels like what my grief is like,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Her grief, Plaza explained, feels like \u201ca giant ocean of awfulness, that\u2019s like right there and I can see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes I just want to dive into it and just like be in it,\u201d she said. \u201cThen sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to get away from it. But, it\u2019s always there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plaza and Baena began dating in 2011 and she revealed in 2021 on social media that they had married.<\/p>\n
