\n\tWould Pierce Brosnan<\/a> ever revisit the world of James Bond<\/a>? For Denis Villeneuve<\/a>\u2018s upcoming 007 film, he\u2019d consider it.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a new interview with Radio Times<\/a>, Brosnan \u2014 who played the suave spy in four films from 1995 to 2002 \u2014 entertained the idea of a senior citizen Bond, not unlike the character he plays in his new film \u201cThe Thursday Murder Club.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t think anyone wants to see a craggy, 72-year-old Bond, but if Villeneuve had something up his sleeve I would look at it in a heartbeat,\u201d Brosnan said. \u201cWhy not? It\u2019s great entertainment. It could be lots of laughs. Bald caps, prosthetics\u2026 who knows?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added that he and his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, have been eagerly awaiting the news of who will be the next Bond. After Amazon took control of the franchise in February and Villeneuve signed on as director with \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d creator Steven Knight penning the script, the announcement can\u2019t be too far away. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI have been listening to the drumbeat of expectation of who\u2019s going to be the next James Bond,\u201d Brosnan said. \u201cThere are many great candidates out there, and I\u2019m sure they\u2019re going to make it a spectacle of delight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn \u201cThursday Murder Club,\u201d Brosnan plays retired union leader Ron Ritchie opposite Helen Mirren as former spy Elizabeth Best. Mirren also recently weighed in on who should be the next Bond<\/a>, telling Saga Magazine that it \u201chas to be a guy.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy,\u201d she said. \u201cYou can\u2019t have a woman. It just doesn\u2019t work. James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
