The British musician\u2019s follow-up to 2023\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/westerman-an-inbuilt-fault\/?utm_source=yahoo&amp;utm_medium=syndication&amp;mbid=synd_yahoo_rss\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:An Inbuilt Fault;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>An Inbuilt Fault<\/em><\/a> is out November 7, via <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/partisanrecords.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Partisan;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Partisan<\/a>. He wrote most of <em>A Jackal\u2019s Wedding<\/em> in Athens, Greece, and recorded it at <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/oldcarpetfactory.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Old Carpet Factory;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Old Carpet Factory<\/a> with producer Marta Salogni. I was trying to break outside of the confines of my immediate physical reality. Life is full of practical limitations in terms of having a body, or what you can afford in terms of money, etc., but you can always go to a place in your head where everything is possible, and the song is a celebration of reclaiming that. I hadn\u2019t written anything for a long time. I got very depressed after my first record; the whole experience was just so bad that I wasn\u2019t sure whether I wanted to make music anymore. Writing this song was taking back ownership of that creative space which is just my thing and it\u2019s powerful. There are periods in everybody\u2019s life where they feel like maybe they don\u2019t have any control over anything.
