Nicolas Cage<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s son Weston Coppola Cage<\/strong> is speaking out one year after he allegedly attacked his mom, Christina Fulton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Weston, 34, gave an update on how he\u2019s doing after he made headlines for the alleged incident with Fulton, 58, in an interview with The Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> at the Future of Film Association\u2019s OPTIX Film Series in Las Vegas on Friday, August 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, it\u2019s strengthened me. I can only give radical forgiveness,\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cI\u2019ve definitely been a target for a lot of misconception my whole life, but I know that only happens to people that are intimidated by the calling of [it].\u201d<\/p>\n

Weston said that he\u2019s experienced \u201ca lot of spiritual awakenings\u201d in recent months.<\/p>\n

Definitely some true alignment had to happen for me,\u201d he said. \u201cI just found that I was surrounded with a lot of people in my life that need to be eliminated. Weston also teased that he has a documentary in the works, tentatively titled \u201cThe Beast of God<\/em>,\u201d which will \u201ctell my childhood story and it\u2019ll keep Xanax in business for sure for the people that watch it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to do a combination of biopic reenactments and then also just some one on one interviews with me and kind of how I\u2019ve always stayed up on the spiritual path and that\u2019s the only thing that\u2019s really ever worked for me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In July 2024, Weston was arrested for felony assault<\/a> following an alleged incident involving his mother the previous April. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.<\/p>\n

Fulton exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the time that she had received \u201curgent messages\u201d from friends of Weston\u2019s about his \u201cdeteriorating mental state.\u201d When she arrived at his apartment to help Weston, he was allegedly \u201cin the midst of a manic rage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was brutally assaulted<\/a> and sustained serious injuries,\u201d she claimed. \u201cAs a mother, I am deeply saddened and concerned about Weston\u2019s ongoing mental health crisis. It is imperative that he receives the help he desperately needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

In response to Fulton\u2019s statement, Weston exclusively told Us<\/em>, \u201cThere is no help I desperately need. There is a lot of inaccurate information printed.\u201d<\/p>\n

In April, a judge sentenced Weston to a mental health diversion program for two years.<\/p>\n

\u201cTake care of my son<\/a>. Our son,\u201d Fulton told TMZ<\/em> in a message to Cage, 61, with whom she welcomed Weston in 1990.<\/p>\n
