Prince William\u2019s ongoing mistrust and dislike of Meghan Markle is a key reason why the rift between him and Prince Harry has not been resolved, according to royal experts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and long-time royal commentator, said Meghan remains \u201cthe flea in the ointment\u201d when it comes to any chance of reconciliation between the brothers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cShe\u2019s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country,\u201d Seward told Fox News Digital.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cThey see her as being very\u2026 damaging to the royal family. And also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don\u2019t like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband\u2019s family and dissed her own family.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Seward also criticised Meghan\u2019s strained relationship with her own family, particularly her father, Thomas Markle. \u201cIt\u2019s just extraordinary to think that her children have not met their grandfather,\u201d she said. \u201cI think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here. And I think that\u2019s a real black mark against Meghan\u2019s character.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cHarry\u2019s never even met her father, which is extraordinary,\u201d she added. \u201cThere are a lot of difficult emotions [to] get over there.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich echoed Seward\u2019s remarks, stating that many in the UK continue to have \u201can unfavourable\u201d view of the Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
According to People magazine, William and Harry are \u201con separate paths,\u201d with no direct contact between them. Sources say Harry\u2019s calls and messages to William have gone unanswered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Seward believes William is maintaining distance deliberately. \u201cWilliam has taken a firm stance,\u201d she said, referencing the couple\u2019s series of public tell-alls. \u201cHarry thinks that William insulted Meghan,\u201d she added. \u201cI think when you have that kind of animosity, it\u2019s really hard to [get around it]. I just don\u2019t see any kind of reparation. I just don\u2019t see it at this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
