Grammy <\/em>nominated Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer, and Audio Engineer James Artissen<\/strong> also formerly known as James Worthy<\/em> has long considered the name to be central to his life<\/em>, and identity<\/em>. <\/p>\n It represents the dedication<\/em>, and the passion towards his craft. Coming from New York<\/em>, the musician attributes his hometown as a major influence <\/em>on his style, and sound. <\/p>\n Born James Allen Worthy <\/em> in Queens, New York, James<\/em> began pursuing music at the age of 16<\/em>. <\/p>\n During that time period James <\/em>had the opportunity to meet the late great Michael Jackson at Webster Hall in New York City<\/em> which inspired James <\/em>to fully pursue a career in the music business<\/em>. <\/p>\n After moving to Atlanta, GA<\/em> the singer, songwriter, and producers first <\/em>musical experience was at his high school recording studio through a music mentoring program sponsored by Dallas Austin<\/em>.<\/p>\n His initial foray into music consisted of learning the art of songwriting <\/em>which later turned into music production shortly after. Artissen <\/em>was also highly influenced by artists such as: A Tribe Called Quest, Whodini, Kanye West, Miguel, The Weeknd, and Pharrell Williams.<\/em> <\/p>\n While studying those artists he began to teach himself <\/em>how to sing in 2009<\/em>. <\/p>\n To further his education <\/em>he attended The Art Institute of Atlanta<\/em> where he received a bachelor<\/em>\u2018s degree in audio production. This helped him begin working, and placing his work with mainstream acts, and songwriters. <\/p>\n In 2017, James<\/em> transitioned from music production to artistry<\/em>, and began recording himself<\/em>. <\/p>\n He joined a duo group named Kings X2,<\/em> and released their debut single \u201cWine For Me<\/em>\u201d in 2017<\/em>. The single peaked at #10 on the US Billboard Hot Single Sales Chart<\/em> for 5<\/em> weeks. Later in 2018 <\/em>the group disbanded, and James <\/em>released his debut solo single \u201cMove<\/em>\u201d which features the rap group Whodini<\/em>. <\/p>\n Following up to 2019 James<\/em> released his anticipated EP \u201cBlu Leisure\u201d<\/em> which became critically acclaimed upon its release. <\/p>\n The project included guest appearances from: Tony Terry, Sonna Rele, Kalenna Harper, and Whodini<\/em>. After its great success he released his sophomore EP \u201cKaleidoscopes\u201d, <\/em>and in 2023 <\/em>he joined forces with rapper Big Gipp <\/em>of the rap group Goodie Mob to release their collaborative EP \u201cGipp N Worthy<\/em>\u201c. <\/p>\n The lead single \u201cTOTW<\/em>\u201d peaked at #91<\/em> on the US Billboard R&B Digital Sales Chart<\/em> also charting at the #1<\/em> position on the Amazon Best Sellers Chart<\/em>. <\/p>\n Within all of James\u2019s <\/em>work he has been nominated for several Grammy Awards <\/em>by working with names such as: Meek Mill, Justin Bieber, Robin S., 112, Raphael Saadiq<\/em>, and so many others to name. <\/p>\n In 2024 James<\/em> launched his own label imprint Humble Sound Record<\/em> in conjunction with Sony Orchard<\/em>. The label houses artists such as: B Angie B, Robin S., Tynisha Keli, Sophia Habib, Shaynah, and Truth Hurts<\/em>.<\/p>\n This year, James <\/em>has released a string <\/em>of hot <\/em>tracks, including his latest \u201cShow Me<\/em>\u201d and \u201cI Can Tell<\/em>\u201d feat.
