{"id":1969360,"date":"2025-08-19T22:13:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T22:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1969360"},"modified":"2025-08-19T22:13:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T22:13:08","slug":"salt-lake-city-to-land-new-6000-capacity-music-venue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/salt-lake-city-to-land-new-6000-capacity-music-venue\/","title":{"rendered":"Salt Lake City to Land New 6,000-Capacity Music Venue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Salt Lake City\u2019s new entertainment district between the Delta Center and the Salt Palace Convention Center could have a new fixture in the near future: a 6,000-seat indoor music venue.<\/p>\n<p>Smith Entertainment Group announced Tuesday it would partner with Live Nation \u2014 one of the largest entertainment companies in the world \u2014 to build a new indoor music venue as part of the ongoing efforts to create a new entertainment district Downtown.<\/p>\n<p>The new 6,000-seat indoor venue is \u201cthe first of many major announcements regarding SEG\u2019s plans\u201d for the entertainment district between the two venues, according to a Tuesday news release from SEG.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal has always been to bring enormous opportunities to downtown,\u201d said Ryan Smith, SEG chairman and CEO, in the news release. \u201cOnce the transformation of Delta Center was underway, partnering with Live Nation on what a world-class concert venue could look like in downtown became a top priority. Not only will it bring the best artists in the world to Utah, but it will also bring a million people downtown to experience Salt Lake City every year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"SLC Music Venues\" aria-label=\"Bar Chart\" id=\"datawrapper-chart-kyL6x\" src=\"https:\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/kyL6x\/1\/\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"width: 0; min-width: 100% !important; border: none;\" height=\"564\" data-external=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition to being a music venue, the news release also says the venue would be able to host, \u201ca variety of corporate, conference, and community events.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong><em>A rendering showing the high-level plans for the sports, cultural and entertainment district.<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The venue\u2019s mid-size capacity would range from 2,000 to 6,000, the news release says, which would fill a gap in Salt Lake City\u2019s concert market. Many of the city\u2019s indoor concert venues like The Union, Eccles Theater or Abravenel Hall don\u2019t have capacities above 4,000 \u2014 while larger venues like the Delta Center or West Valley City\u2019s Maverik Center can each comfortably hold over 10,000 guests.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday announcement is the latest <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/buildingsaltlake.com\/salt-lake-city-council-approves-district-for-salt-palace-rebuild-delta-center-plaza\/\">development<\/a> for <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/buildingsaltlake.com\/smith-entertainment-releases-details-on-delta-center-overhaul-including-new-interior-new-entrance\/\">the area\u2019s planned overhaul<\/a> that\u2019s been <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/buildingsaltlake.com\/udot-commits-to-building-a-hybrid-pedestrian-plaza-over-300-west-at-the-delta-center\/\">funded largely with taxpayer money<\/a>.
