SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – There have been several concert announcements in the last few weeks, and local entertainment venues are working to secure more shows in the future.<\/p>\n
This was a discussion at a Sioux City Events Facilities and Tourism Advisory Board meeting<\/a>, stating that waiting for tickets can cause a problem and prevent venues from getting some events.<\/p>\n They say it\u2019s based on ticket sales. <\/p>\n Board members shared that promoters for acts look at on-sale numbers and utilize relationships built with those in the touring industry. Nick Palmiotti with the Tyson Event Center calls it a year-round endeavor, trying to bring shows to Sioux City. <\/p>\n Palmiotti adds that there are acts that go with Omaha and Sioux Falls, and won\u2019t go with Sioux City unless it\u2019s a second pass through the area. <\/p>\n Meaning, if you want to go to a show, it\u2019s best to buy tickets sooner. <\/p>\n \u201cThey are looking at how many tickets we are selling to various different events, so if we were looking at booking a country show, they are going to look at our history, what we have on sale currently, is Sioux City the right market for them. So the more tickets we can sell, the earlier we can sell them, certainly helps,\u201d said Palmiotti <\/p>\n The Tyson Event Center can hold up to 10,000 people.<\/p>\n The Sioux City Orpheum\u2019s capacity is about 2,500, and the goal is to fill those seats.<\/p>\n Palmiotti adds that fall is the busiest season of the year, with a strong lineup for events and concerts at the Tyson Event Center and the Orpheum.<\/p>\n If you are planning to attend, he says, don\u2019t wait to buy a ticket.<\/p>\n Want to get the latest news and weather from Siouxland\u2019s News Source?
