The Wilco<\/a> frontman also asked fans to submit new lyrics<\/a> to the song that he will pull from for an extended version of \u201cFeel Free\u201d he will issue at a later date on his Starship Casual Substack<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cMake a record with your friends, sing a song that never ends,<\/em>\u201d Jeff Tweedy sings towards the end of the breezy \u201cFeel Free.\u201d Tweedy plays off the words with the fan-submitted lyrics project. Override Jeff\u2019s lyrics by writing a couplet and share it on this page<\/a>. The singer-songwriter will select his favorites for inclusion in the extended version. <\/p>\n \u201cFeel Free\u201d is the fifth advance taste of Twilight Override<\/em>, which is due out on September 26 via dBpm Records<\/a>. The sprawling, 30-song collection was recorded and self-produced by Jeff Tweedy at The Loft in Chicago, with engineering and mixing from Tom Schick. Jeff\u2019s children Spencer<\/a> and Sammy Tweedy<\/a> contributed to his first solo album since 2020\u2019s Love Is The King<\/em>, as did his fellow Chicago-based collaborators James Elkington<\/a>, Sima Cunningham<\/a>, Macie Stewart<\/a> and Liam Kazar<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe freedom I\u2019m talking about in this song comes in both small doses and large doses. It arrives at me, at the most free I feel in my life. Which is making a record with my friends and singing a song that I feel like is a part of the past, present and future,\u201d Jeff Tweedy said regarding \u201cFeel Free.\u201d<\/p>\n Tweedy tapped Lance Bangs to direct a performance video for \u201cFeel Free\u201d that was issued today to accompany the single.
