Charisma Carpenter is slaying rumors that she\u2019ll be in the upcoming \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d reboot. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The actor, best known for her role as Cordelia Chase on the original \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d series, took to TikTok this week<\/a> to clear up swirling fan theories. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI get asked this a lot: \u2018Are you doing the reboot?\u2019 And I thought I would address it,\u201d Carpenter said in the video posted on Monday. \u201cI am not in the reboot. I am not in the pilot. I don\u2019t even know if the show has been picked up to go to series. I assume it will be.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Carpenter first appeared on the show in 1997, portraying Cordelia, the sharp-tongued queen of the high school social scene who eventually found herself fighting demons in more ways than one. After three seasons on \u201cBuffy\u201d (and four more on its spinoff \u201cAngel), her performance earned a loyal fan base \u2014 and some lingering hope that she\u2019d return to the Hellmouth.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The reboot buzz intensified after Carpenter launched a rewatch podcast, \u201cThe Bitch Is Back!\u201d<\/a> \u2014 its title a nod to her famous line from the show\u2019s third season. Some fans took that as a hidden message.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was not intended to sound coded in any kind of way, alluding to the fact that I was admitting to being in the reboot,\u201d Carpenter said in her TikTok. \u201cPeople were also then commenting, \u2018Oh, is this… Are you saying…\u2019 You know, like it was an Easter egg \u00e0 la Taylor Swift. Not at all.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Carpenter confirmed that she has \u201cnot had any conversations with the powers that be\u201d to include her character at this point. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The creative powers behind the reboot notably do not include the show\u2019s creator, Joss Whedon. In 2021, Carpenter made headlines when she accused him<\/a> of being emotionally abusive on set.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
