Teddi Mellencamp revealed that Brandon Blackstock’s death really hit her “hard” amid her own journey with melanoma<\/a>, a form of skin cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the latest episode of Two Ts In A Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge, the Real Housewives<\/a> of Beverly Hills alum, 44, admitted Kelly Clarkson’s former husband’s death from malignant melanoma “really hit me hard” during her own skin cancer battle, which she has been fighting since 2022.<\/p>\n

Blackstock died from natural causes associated from the disease<\/a> at age 48 on August 7. No autopsy was conducted, and his remains were cremated.<\/p>\n

His death came four months after Mellencamp confirmed she had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after her melanoma metastasized to her brain and lungs.<\/p>\n

“I wish I would have missed that little detail in the World Wide Web because then I started doing research and they were so quiet about [his diagnosis],” Mellencamp shared of learning that Blackstock had been living with melanoma for three years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added, “I mean, we know he passed from melanoma. They announced that.”<\/p>\n

Mellencamp and Judge went on to speculate about Blackstock\u2019s treatment, with Judge saying, “We’re assuming that it had metastasized,” to which Mellencamp responded, “I was wondering when did it metastasize?”<\/p>\n

She added, “Two, like this is just where my head goes from being in the situation, did he decline treatment? Three, there’s so many different ways that this could have happened, and like I have one million [percent] respect their choice to keep it private.”<\/p>\n

Judge then suggested that Mellencamp could “reach out” to Clarkson, Blackstock\u2019s ex-wife, adding, “And just say for my own [understanding] or maybe not, maybe just not.”<\/p>\n

“You have to understand everybody’s different, everybody like maybe he did treatment, maybe he didn’t do treatment,” she continued.<\/p>\n

Mellencamp agreed, before adding, “Maybe he did immunotherapy? Maybe he did chemotherapy? We don’t know. I don’t know, but those kind of stories hit you hard, when it directly sounds similar to something that you’re going through.”<\/p>\n

“It hit me too, to be honest with you, I mean I had some talks about it, and you know when I listened to it, it was a three-year battle,” Judge shared. “Then my head starts going places and I want to know more, and there really isn’t any more than that.”<\/p>\n

The talent manager’s death was announced on August 7, a rep for the family confirmed in a statement that read, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.<\/p>\n

“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”<\/p>\n

Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis confirmed Blackstock’s cause of death four days later.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family,\u201d Hollis told PEOPLE.<\/a><\/p>\n

He confirmed that Blackstock’s cause of death was melanoma while the manner of death was natural causes.<\/p>\n

An official death certificate obtained by People indicated that seizures were noted as “significant conditions contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause.”<\/p>\n

In May, Mellencamp said her body is responding well to treatment, revealing her cancer has shown significant improvement.<\/p>\n

On the May 14 episode of Two Ts In A Pod, Mellencamp told Judge that her stage 4 melanoma tumors, previously found in her brain and lungs, are continuing to shrink.<\/p>\n

“Last time, they had checked solely my brain, and those tumors are shrinking,” Mellencamp said. “And then, today I had the scan where they checked my lungs and they are shrinking, and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
