Dame Helen and Pierce appear together in the new cinematic version of Richard Osman’s bestselling novel, The Thursday Murder Club. The story centers around a group of retirement home residents who gather to examine cold cases and find themselves caught up in a real-life mystery.<\/p>\n
Dame Helen, who portrays retired spy Elizabeth in the movie, told Saga her character was “more realistic” than Bond.<\/p>\n
She added, “But not so much fun as Bond! I’m such a feminist, but James Bond has to be a guy. You can’t have a woman. It just doesn’t work. James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something else.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
