Prince Harry is desperately trying to heal wounds with the royal family<\/a>, but Meghan has stayed notably silent after his most recent olive branch.<\/p>\n

It has emerged that just days ago, the Duke left a secret letter<\/a> at a royal event attended by King Charles<\/a> and Queen Camilla<\/a>. It is said that he asked a friend to discreetly leave a note and a wreath of red poppies at the Burma Star Memorial, to mark the national VJ Day commemorations.<\/p>\n

Notably, the letter was placed after Charles and Camilla left to avoid distracting from the service, which honoured the sacrifice of Second World War heroes who fought and died in the Pacific and Far East.<\/a><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Meghan did not sign the letter. It’s not the first time she’s stayed quiet in recent weeks, as experts have questioned why she hasn’t spoken out in support of her husband amid a ‘devastating’ boardroom battle.<\/p>\n

The Duke <\/a>stepped down from Sentebale, the charity he founded to help children orphaned by Aids in Lesotho, earlier this year following a tense showdown with the chairwoman, Dr Sophie Chandauka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harry was said to be devastated by the row, which saw all sides rebuked by the Charity Commission for allowing the war of words to play out so publicly. And many expected Meghan to publicly back Harry. But she has continued to hold her silence – and it’s raised eyebrows amongst royal watchers.<\/p>\n

In her most recent Instagram<\/a> post, Meghan pointedly continued to ignore the furore. The 44-year-old shared a video on Tuesday showing her preparing and plating up a lemon pasta spaghetti dish; prior to that, she shared a post promoting the upcoming second series of With Love Meghan.<\/p>\n

Expert Dr Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror<\/a>: “Now that Meghan and Harry have signed a new Netflix<\/a> deal (‘looser’ and apparently less lucrative than the previous $78m one but a deal nonetheless), might the Duchess find her voice?<\/p>\n

“Not the one she volubly uses to hawk As Ever wares (in conjunction with Netflix) but rather the voice Meghan famously re-found after leaving the Royal Family<\/a>, the one that talked her truth to royal power and surely could talk her truth to the Sentebale fiasco?<\/p>\n

“No, really, why hasn’t Meghan come out batting for Prince Harry <\/a>in his latest round of verbal fisty-cuffs concerning his former African charity? After all, the Duke has consistently spoken out in support of his wife, establishing the precedent early on and against the wishes of his family when he condemned Britain’s media coverage and insisted he had never before witnessed such a ‘degree of pressure, scrutiny and harassment’ from the press.<\/p>\n

“As it currently stands, Harry cuts a lonely figure. The Charity Commission ‘identified a \u2018strong perception of ill treatment’ swirling in the unhappy waters of his former charity, Sentebale. It was a terse ruling that exonerated no one; all parties remain incandescent, particularly the aggrieved prince, who insists the report has fallen ‘troublingly short’.<\/p>\n

“In other words, the Duke of Sussex’s nemesis, Dr Sophie Chanduka, is still at large, running Harry’s former beloved Sentebale. The Duke could really do with some public TLC, especially from his wife, whose own issues with said Dr Chanduka were allegedly caught on camera at a polo match Sentebale fundraiser.”<\/p>\n

It comes after Harry and Meghan confirmed they had extended their deal with Netflix, having signed a new “multi-year, first look deal for film <\/a>and television <\/a>projects”.<\/p>\n

While the Duchess was quick to celebrate the signing, experts claimed that the deal is a downgrade for the couple.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
