The Breakfast Club<\/em> is making a surprise return to theaters. More than 40 years after it was first released, John Hughes\u2019 iconic coming-of-age film will be re-released in cinemas across the country on Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n In a statement, Universal Pictures\u2019 president of domestic theatrical distribution, Jim Orr, said, \u201cThe Breakfast Club<\/em> is one of the great films about identity, alienation, and connection. The film\u2019s honesty, humor, and humanity continue to connect with audiences of all ages. Starring Molly Ringwald (as Claire Standish, the princess), Emilio Estevez (Andrew Clark, the athlete), Judd Nelson (John Bender, the criminal), Anthony Michael Hall (Brian Johnson, the brain), and Ally Sheedy (Allison Reynolds, the basket case), the film followed the unexpected bonds formed during a life-changing Saturday detention at a Chicago high school.<\/p>\n The Breakfast Club <\/em>grossed more than $50 million when it was originally released, per People<\/em><\/a>.<\/em> The young group of actors in the film became known as the Brat Pack, along with Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, and Rob Lowe.<\/p>\n In April, all five cast members of The Breakfast Club<\/em> reunited for the first time in 40 years at a panel at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo<\/a>. Estevez had skipped past reunions.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel really, very emotional and moved to have us all together,\u201d Ringwald said, per Today<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThis is the first time that Emilio has joined us.
