Ashley McBryde is not saying much these days, and that\u2019s on doctor\u2019s orders.<\/p>\n
In fact, the 42-year-old singer announced earlier this week that she is stepping away from touring for several weeks to rest her vocal cords.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy voice has been struggling over the past few weeks, and as much as it pains me, I won\u2019t be able to play my shows this week,\u201d she wrote on Instagram on Monday. <\/b><\/a>\u201cMy doctors have made it crystal clear: my voice needs complete rest to heal.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I want more than to be back giving you 100%,\u201d she added. \u201cThank you for understanding. I\u2019ll see you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n Although she cannot talk, she is still sharing the experience with fans.<\/p>\n \u201cNot being able to use my voice is a scary feeling,\u201d she wrote alongside a video of playing with her cat. \u201cThat\u2019s the not so fun reality of your voice being how you make a living. But August Moon is keeping me company while I let it heal. Thank you for being so understanding, my hope is that these pipes will be back to what they should be soon.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHealing the pipes is most important!!\u201d Kelsey Waldon responded. \u201cEverybody will be waiting for ya when you return. Sending big recovery vibes your way (to you and kitty).\u201d<\/p>\n There were plenty more comments like those and you can see them and McBryde\u2019s Instagram post here.<\/p>\n McBryde tried to avoid having to take time away from performing. She announced two weeks ago that she would not be talking to fans at meet and greets due to her vocal struggles.<\/p>\n \u201cTrybe, doc says I\u2019m working on busted up vocal cords,\u201d she wrote along with the video. \u201cThe last thing I wanna do is cancel any meet greets or Heaven forbid SHOWS. So, let\u2019s try this for a week.\u201d<\/p>\n In the video, McBryde held up notecards with written messages and also did sign language.<\/p>\n \u201cHi Gang!\u201d the first card read. \u201cSo \u2026 I hurt my throat.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, NO TALKING if I want to be able to sing to you,\u201d she wrote on the second.<\/p>\n That is when she suggested practicing sign language and showed off a couple of messages including, \u201cHi, nice to meet you,\u201d and \u201cGood to see you.\u201d<\/p>\n The video was kind of funny, and fans responded well.<\/p>\n \u201cThat way, we don\u2019t have to cancel meet and greets,\u201d she wrote on another card. \u201cLet\u2019s try together.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cCan\u2019t sing but you can write,\u201d Jeff Moll responded. \u201cI expect a new album out of this debacle.
