Timed alongside the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the 50th birthday of the stadium that came to symbolize both refuge and renewal, celebrity.land Original Series\u00a0New Orleans: Soul of a City<\/em>\u00a0will air a special preview of its premiere episode,\u00a0\u201cRebirth of the Superdome\u201d<\/em>\u00a0on Sunday, August 24 at 8 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n

Twenty years ago, Hurricane Katrina tore through the Gulf Coast, flooding much of New Orleans and driving tens of thousands to seek shelter in the storm-battered Superdome. Once a scene of desperation, the stadium became a cornerstone of the city\u2019s recovery \u2014 its revival culminating in the New Orleans Saints\u2019 2010 Super Bowl win, a moment that told the world the city was back.<\/p>\n

\u201cRebirth of the Superdome\u201d<\/em>\u00a0features interviews with former Saints players\u00a0Malcolm Jenkins,\u00a0Deuce McAllister, and\u00a0Devery Henderson, former mayor\u00a0Mitch Landrieu, former Superdome general manager\u00a0Doug Thornton,\u00a0Wendell Pierce, James Carville, Pam Oliver, Emeril Lagasse,\u00a0Wynton Marsalis\u00a0and other New Orleans icons.<\/p>\n

While the first episode tells the story of the Superdome, the full four-part series explores the many ways the city communes with its history through music, food, sports, and tradition \u2014 revealing how, 20 years after Katrina, New Orleans is louder and more resilient than ever.<\/p>\n
