Members of the cast of \u201cHome Improvement\u201d will come together for a reunion on Tim Allen\u2019s new sitcom.<\/p>\n
Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn and Debbe Dunning will join Allen for the Season 2 premiere of ABC\u2018s \u201cShifting Gears,\u201d Deadline reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n While details of the episode are still under wraps, Deadline said their characters will support Allen\u2019s character \u201cin an unexpected way.\u201d<\/p>\n Premiering in January, \u201cShifting Gears\u201d follows Matt Parker: a stubborn, widowed owner of car restoration shop. The show kicks off when Matt\u2019s estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and his two grandchildren move into his house.<\/p>\n Richardson played Allen\u2019s wife, Jill Taylor and Karn portrayed his \u201cTool Time\u201d co-host Al Borland during \u201cHome Improvement\u2019s\u201d original run from 1991 to 1999. <\/p>\n Dunning joined in the third season as Heidi, the \u201cTool Time\u201d assistant, replacing Pamela Anderson who played Lisa in the first two seasons.<\/p>\n The impending reunion will not be the first time Allen has worked with his former \u201cHome Improvement\u201d co-stars.<\/p>\n Both Karn and Richardson previously made guest appearances on Allen\u2019s sitcom \u201cLast Man Standing,\u201d though in separate episodes. <\/p>\n Karn and Allen have also collaborated on two History Channel shows, \u201cAssembly Required\u201d and \u201cMore Power.\u201d<\/p>\n The Season 2 premiere of \u201cShifting Gears\u201d airs Wednesday, Oct. 1. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
