The post Kittie Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Debut Album with EP of Re-Recorded Songs, Unveil \u201cSpit XXV\u201d: Stream<\/a> appeared first on Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kittie<\/a> are commemorating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Spit with an EP of re-recorded songs, out September 19th on Sumerian Records.<\/p>\n Titled Spit XXV, the four-song release sees the metal band revisiting highlight tracks from its first album alongside original producer Garth Richardson. The selections include \u201cSpit,\u201d \u201cDo You Think I\u2019m a Whore?,\u201d \u201cBrackish,\u201d and \u201cCharlotte,\u201d with the title track available to stream now.<\/p>\n While it\u2019s recognizably the same song, the Canadian quartet have given it a new coat of paint, updating the sonics and fidelity to 2025 standards. It\u2019s closer to the brutal sound of post-reunion Kittie, as heard on the comeback LP Fire<\/a> that was released last year.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe that 25 years after its release, and almost 30 years since Kittie began, people are still talking about Spit,\u201d remarked singer-guitarist Morgan Lander in a press release. \u201cThere is something truly unexplainable in why our debut album is still resonating with people, finding a new audience and has had such a lasting impact on so many.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cReimagining some of these classic songs for the 25th anniversary of Spit was a lot of fun and a true testament to their longevity. It reveals just how relevant in the musical landscape they still are today.
