Ariana Grande<\/a> may have gotten her start on Nickelodeon, but she just proved that she\u2019s also a Disney Channel fan by singing a classic Hilary Duff <\/a>hit in a video for R.E.M. Beauty posted Tuesday (Aug. 19).<\/p>\n In the social media clip<\/a>, the pop superstar tests out a shimmery liquid eye shadow. While deciding to add even more of the product to her lids \u2014 because why not? \u2014 Grande launches into an impromptu cover of the Lizzie McGuire <\/em>star\u2019s \u201cWhy Not\u201d that is absolutely pitch perfect, despite the Wicked <\/em>actress being on the spot.<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWhy not take a crazy chance?\u201d she sings, adding her signature vibrato and improvised runs to the original melody. \u201cWhy not do a crazy dance?\/ If you lose the moment, you might lose a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Resharing the video to her Instagram Story, Duff expressed her disbelief that Grande had actually paid tribute. \u201cWell I get gotten by AI a lot \u2014 but this really happened,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n Released in the early 2000s, \u201cWhy Not\u201d was featured in the soundtrack for Disney\u2019s The Lizzie<\/em> McGuire Movie<\/em>, in which Duff starred. The track also appears on Duff\u2019s Metamorphosis <\/em>album, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200<\/a> in 2003.<\/p>\n Seven years later, Grande would make her debut as Cat Valentine in Nickelodeon\u2019s Victorious<\/em>, kickstarting her music career shortly after the show premiered.
