Country Royalty Lives On as Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn’s Grandkids Revive Their Timeless Hit<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n By 1971 both Conway Twitty <\/strong>and Loretta Lynn<\/strong> were county royalty int heir own rights. Twitty was hailed as “The High Priest of Country Music”<\/strong> by comedian Jerry Clower <\/strong>for his devoted following while Lynn was dubbed the “Queen of Country.”<\/strong> But when the two joined forces as the iconic duo Conway & Loretta that year, they were unstoppable.<\/p>\n Their first hit together “After the Fire Is Gone” shot to the top of the U.S. country charts and earned them a Grammy. It was August 18, 1973 when their mega hit \u201cLouisiana Woman, Mississippi Man\u201d hit #1 on the Billboard chart and took the country world by storm. Over 50 years and 10 albums, seven compilation albums, and 13 singles later, Conway & Loretta live one… through their respective grandkids.<\/p>\n Conway\u2019s grandson, Tre Twitty<\/strong>, and Loretta\u2019s granddaughter, Tayla Lynn,<\/strong>\u00a0are continuing country tradition as Twitty & Lynn, and proved they live up to their grandparent’s legacy with a stunning cover of the iconic song.<\/p>\n Fans felt like they were transported back in time hearing the two belt out this classic.<\/p>\n “Why isn\u2019t country music like this anymore. This is brilliance,” wondered one fan.<\/p>\n ‘They nailed this,” claimed another. “Love Conway and Loretta. The new duo formed in 2018 and while they regularly pay homage to their iconic roots in their shows, the do have new music on the way. But there is no denying they are heavily focusing on keeping their grandparents’ legacies alive.<\/p>\n \u201cConway and Loretta used to do everything with so much passion: the way they dressed, the way they recorded, the way they performed,\u201d Lynn said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cWe want to bring that to fans who were lucky enough to see our grandparents before and to those who are just learning about them.\u201d<\/p>\n Currently the two are touring the U.S. with their show Twitty and Lynn Salute Conway and Loretta. Shows span from August 28th all the way to December 13.<\/p>\n The pair of course play the aforementioned hit, but other classics fans can expect are\u00a0duets like \u201cAfter the Fire Is Gone\u201d and \u201cYou\u2019re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly.\u201d Each of the grandkids sing their solo hits as well like \u201cHello, Darlin\u2019\u201d and \u201cCoal Miner\u2019s Daughter.”<\/p>\n Both of them see it as an opportunity to grant their grandparents the reunion they never got.
