The latest update on a potential The Penguin Season 2<\/a><\/strong> isn\u2019t great news for fans of The Batman<\/a>.<\/p>\n DC Studios<\/a> and Warner Bros. Pictures<\/a>\u2019 The Batman movie was released in 2022. Directed by Matt Reeves, it stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne\/Batman<\/a>, while Zo\u00eb Kravitz and Colin Farrell<\/a> star as Selina Kyle\/Catwoman and Oz\/The Penguin.<\/p>\n Reeves and Mattson Tomlin recently turned in their script for The Batman 2<\/a>, also known as The Batman Part II<\/a>, which is expected to arrive in October 2027. And, according to The Penguin<\/a> showrunner Lauren LeFranc<\/a>, it won\u2019t be decided if the spin-off series is continuing until after more people get a chance to read The Batman 2 script.<\/p>\n When asked what the current status of HBO Max<\/a>\u2018s The Penguin Season 2 is by The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, LeFranc said, \u201cI don\u2019t know. There\u2019s no current status update. I think Matt just turned in his script [for The Batman Part II], so I\u2019m excited to read that soon and see what comes of that \u2014 if there is anything there that merits a second season [of\u00a0The Penguin] or not.<\/p>\n \u201cI think we\u2019ve said this before, but I truly mean it: We have to feel confident we can top ourselves, and that\u2019s something that\u2019s really important to Colin Farrell and me, especially; otherwise, we don\u2019t want to do something again if it\u2019s not going to be excellent. We were always meant to be a limited series.
