As tipped here last week, Florence + the Machine will return with a new album, Everybody Scream<\/em>, appropriately due for release by Republic on Halloween (Oct. 31). The project\u2019s title track is out now in tandem with a video directed by Autumn De Wilde.<\/p>\n The Florence Welch-led group previously teased a clip of the video in which the vocalist, clad in a red dress, digs a hole in a windy, desolate soundscape and screams upon seeing what\u2019s inside. Everybody Scream<\/em> was written and produced with assistance from IDLES\u2019 Mark Bowen (who also cameos in the video), the National\u2019s Aaron Dessner and Mitski. Bowen previously teamed with Welch to co-produce a cover of No Doubt\u2019s \u201cJust a Girl\u201d fo the second season of the grunge era-set Showtime series\u00a0Yellowjackets<\/em>.<\/p>\n More from Spin:<\/p>\n Per a statement, the follow-up to 2022\u2019s Dance Fever<\/em> \u201ctreads through womanhood, partnership, aging and dying [and] exposing the murky in the mundane.\u201d<\/p>\n Florence + the Machine have been off the road for almost a year following the September 2024 performance of their 2009 debut, Lungs<\/em>, with orchestra at London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall. Welch was onstage in June at the U.K.\u2019s Glastonbury Festival for a surprise performance with the Maccabees.<\/p>\n
