\u2018Baby Reindeer\u2019 Star Richard Gadd Looks Unrecognizable in Upcoming ‘Half Man’<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n Richard Gadd,<\/strong> who played the wiry and anxious Donny Dunn in Netflix\u2019s Baby Reindeer, looked completely unrecognizable in stills from his upcoming project Half Man, and fans can\u2019t get over his new appearance.<\/p>\n Gadd, 36, had packed on pounds of muscle and was sporting a full beard for his new role in the HBO and BBC series. In one image shared on Wednesday, August 20, he wore a form-fitting white tank top and had visible tattoos on his arms as he sat across a table from his co-star Jamie Bell<\/strong>. Another picture showed the Edinburgh comedian sitting on the bed in what appeared to be a hospital room.<\/p>\n \u201cWow, Richard Gadd is seriously transforming for this role!\u201d one person wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another added<\/a>, \u201cMy man gained some muscle,\u201d while a third social media user chimed in and said<\/a>, \u201cDude got buff.\u201d<\/p>\n Half Man \u201cfollows estranged \u2018brothers\u2019 Niall (Jamie Bell) and Ruben (Richard Gadd).When Niall’s estranged \u2018brother\u2019 Ruben shows up at his wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives,\u201d according to a press release from HBO.<\/p>\n Ed Miller/Netflix<\/p>\n The transformation comes on the heels of Gadd\u2019s sudden rise, sparked by the runaway success of Baby Reindeer, and his role of Ruben appears to be a far cry from the character he based on himself<\/a> seen in the Netflix series.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Gadd spoke about the instant fame he garnered from Baby Reindeer and admitted that at times it felt overwhelming.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was a moment one of the tech [people] at Netflix told me, \u2018The past couple of days you\u2019ve been the most googled man in the world.\u2019 I don\u2019t know whether that\u2019s true or not, but that level of visibility was quite scary,\u201d he explained in an interview with Vanity Fair<\/a> published on May 12. \u201cI think it would have been scary if everything was positive, but it was positive and negative all at once, and that was very difficult to come to terms with.
