‘Star Trek’ Star William Shatner, 94, Announces Unique New Project<\/a> originally appeared on Parade<\/a>.<\/i><\/p>\n William Shatner<\/a><\/strong>, known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in theStar Trek <\/a>franchise, is revealing his brand-new project.<\/p>\n People magazine<\/a> reported that Shatner and his collaborator Joshua Brandon are releasing a new book together, titled William Shatner…And You. Brandon and Shatner, who began starring as Captain Kirk in 1966 during the first season of Star Trek: The Original Series, previously worked together to write the 2024 book, Boldly Go.<\/p>\n According to the publication, Shatner’s upcoming book includes works written by fans, celebrities, and public figures who voiced their appreciation for the actor and the USS Enterprise captain.<\/p>\n “My greatest joy has been the connection I\u2019ve shared with fans over the years.\u00a0William Shatner\u2026 And You\u00a0is a celebration of them: their stories, their passion and the bond we\u2019ve built together,” said Shatner to People magazine.<\/p>\n The book’s official website<\/a> encouraged “fans to submit their stories” about ways “William Shatner has impacted your life” for the book. However, fans need to preorder the “First Edition copy” of William Shatner…And You before submitting a story. The website also stated that “Stories will be reviewed by our team and shortlisted for interviews with Mr. Shatner.” Said “selected stories and interviews will be included in the published First Edition of William Shatner & You,” which is expected to be published toward the end of 2026.<\/p>\n While Shatner once made fun of passionate Star Trek fans in a classic 1986 SNL skit<\/a>, he assured Trekkies that he does enjoy interacting with them during an October 2020 interview with Galaxy Con<\/a>. According to Shatner, “Talking to another human being is a great joy to [him].”<\/p>\n “I love to communicate. I love to hear what people have to say. And what their story is. Trying to get in what their story is,” said the actor during the interview. “So when people ask me a question, the very nature of the question is somewhat revealing as to who they and what they are. And the great joy I have is answering the question. And getting into what the questions says about them. So there’s an interplay between the fans and me that I really get a kick of.”<\/p>\n
