Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a> and Glen Powell<\/strong><\/a> are still chatting about their hit movie, Anyone But You<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted everything to be an activity,\u201d Sweeney, 27, said of her and Powell\u2019s connection while promoting the 2023 rom-com in an interview with The Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a> published on Wednesday, August 20. \u201cAnd then the audience and the people were the ones who created all the other narratives.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Sweeney and Powell, 36, were both in relationships with others at the time, they still sparked romance rumors due to their sizzling chemistry. Sweeney and Powell have maintained they are just friends. (Sweeney was engaged to now-ex Jonathan Davino<\/strong> while Powell was in a relationship with now-ex Gigi Paris<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

Anyone But You<\/em> was a box office success, and Sweeney previously teased that a sequel could be in the works<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actors starred alongside each other in the 2023 rom-com Anyone But You, sparking romance rumors during the film\u2019s press tour thanks to their obvious chemistry. Not long after photos of them cozying up in bathing suits [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t actually reveal all of my secrets,\u201d the actress teased to E! News<\/em> in February 2024, adding that she was \u201ctalking to [Powell] this morning \u2026 We\u2019re talking about stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

More than a year later, Powell shared in a Wednesday interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> that he and Sweeney are \u201cstill talking\u201d about a potential sequel. The actor added that he and Sweeney agreed to not make a follow-up \u201cuntil it\u2019s the right idea,\u201d which \u201crequires patience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Anyone But You<\/em> premiered, Sweeney and Powell have remained close. After Sweeney called off her wedding<\/a> to Davino earlier this year, she reunited with Powell at his younger sister Leslie\u2019s wedding.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney. They are just friends,\u201d a source exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in March 2025. \u201cSydney is close with the entire family.\u201d<\/p>\n
