A piece of Detroit film history has hit the market.<\/p>\n
A Tudor-style home in the city’s Grandmont\/Rosedale Park neighborhood that was featured in the 2021 Steven Soderbergh<\/a> crime drama \u201cNo Sudden Move<\/a>\u201d is for sale for $350,000.<\/p>\n Built in 1930 and remodeled in 2023, the 2,850-square-foot, three-story home, known as the “Wertz” house in the film set in the 1950s, sits on a double lot and offers four bedrooms, and 1.5 baths.<\/p>\n The home balances historic charm with modern updates by blending classic elements, such as a wood-burning fireplace, plaster accents and leaded glass windows, with a renovated kitchen and primary bath.<\/p>\n Homeowner Jeff Daigle said the home was selected for the film in early 2020 after the neighborhood association announced scouts were looking for properties.<\/p>\n \u201cThey liked our house for the sight lines through our hallway on the main floor and for the second-floor landing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The updated kitchen at 14535 Ashton in Detroit’s Rosedale Park neighborhood, featured in Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama set in the 1950s “No Sudden Move,” is listed for $350,000.<\/p>\n At the time, Daigle and his late wife had just moved in and didn’t have much furniture, giving the production team more flexibility to transform the home into a midcentury time capsule.<\/p>\n \u201cWe met production designer Hannah Beachler<\/a> and director Steven Soderbergh during the process,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n More: <\/strong>‘No Sudden Move,’ a star-studded Steven Soderbergh movie, starts production in Detroit<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Originally expected to be a three-month rental for filming, COVID-19 delays stretched the family\u2019s time away from home to around 11 months.<\/p>\n During that time, the production crew transformed the home into a 1950s set, complete with vintage cabinetry, period appliances, wallpaper, aged finishes, painted walls in midcentury hues, added carpeting over the wood floors, and even a temporary garage to house classic Chevrolets used in the film.
