Militarie Gu<\/a>n have revealed that their newest song \u2018B A D I D E A\u2019 was originally intended for Doja Cat<\/a>.<\/p>\n Last week, the fast-rising hardcore heroes announced their new album \u2018God Save the Gun\u2019, and shared a new music video for lead single \u2018B A D I D E A\u2019<\/a>. The track is a short, two-minute hardcore banger, that by frontman Ian Shelton\u2019s own admission, almost didn\u2019t make the cut for the record.<\/p>\n Speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Militarie Gun revealed that the song was intended for Doja Cat \u2013 who in 2023 shared that she wanted to work on a hardcore album<\/a>. She said at the time: \u201cI feel like we have enough pop-punk artists right now. And if there needs to be more, then let there be more, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019m the one to do it. I want to explore more of a raw, unfiltered, hardcore punk sort of thing. It\u2019s just something that I\u2019m doing for my own personal fun \u2014 getting some drummers and guitarists together. And I don\u2019t even know if that\u2019s gonna make it out there.\u201d<\/p>\n During their chat with Lowe, Militarie Gun frontman Ian Shelton shared: \u201c\u2018B A D I D E A\u2019 was a song that was at the very last minute hatched, and it was actually hatched \u2019cause I wrote it for a hardcore record that Doja Cat wanted to do. And then I was like, \u201cNah, I\u2019m taking that.\u201d For the instrumental, not the vocal.
