Jessica Simpson has released a reflective new single, \u201cHopeless Romance.\u201d The emotional, country-tinged ballad was written by Simpson with Chris Isaak, JD McPherson, and Teresa LaBarbera, and produced by McPherson.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve always been in love with love\/ I thought that you were too,\u201d Simpson croons on the track. \u201cBelieving in a lucid tale\/ The way that dreamers do\/ Here I go again\/ I\u2019ll give us one more chance\/ Hopeless romantic\/ In a hopeless romance.\u201d<\/p>\n
More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n The singer shared the song on social media, thanking her collaborators \u201cfor this therapy session.\u201d The track follows her recent single, \u201cFade,\u201d<\/a> a boisterous acoustic track that was also produced by McPherson.<\/p>\n Both songs will appear on Simpson\u2019s new EP, Nashville Canyon: Part 2<\/em>, out Sept. 5. The five-song collection is a follow-up to her recent effort, Nashville Canyon: Part 1<\/a>,<\/em> which arrived earlier this year and marked her first original music since 2008.<\/p>\n She told Rolling Stone<\/em> that she hoped to channel her emotions into the songs, noting, \u201cI\u2019m not comfortable with anger, so you won\u2019t hear much anger in any of my music. You\u2019ll hear frustration, but it\u2019s strong. I deserve to love the way I love, and I love so deeply and so fully and in a committed way. Maybe there are others out there like that. Who knows?\u201d<\/p>\n She added, \u201cWhen I\u2019ve had success in my life is when I\u2019ve just been honest and real. I\u2019ve never gotten a chance to do that in music until now.\u201d<\/p>\n Simpson will play an exclusive concert<\/a> at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Nov. 8 in celebration of her EPs.
