Vanderpump Rules<\/a> star Tom Sandoval<\/a> is continuing his redemption tour with a stint on America\u2019s Got Talent<\/a> with his cover band, The Most Extras. But, unlike previous weeks, the band\u2019s cover<\/a> of The Weeknd\u2019s song \u201cBlinding Lights\u201d in the quarterfinals failed to impress the judges, \u2013 though Sandoval\u2019s friend Tom Schwartz<\/a> and girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson seemed thoroughly entertained as they cheered him on from the audience.<\/p>\n

Simon Cowell<\/a> was the only judge to hit the \u201cX\u201d buzzer during Sandoval\u2019s performance. The famously candid judge did not mince his words when it came time to offer feedback to Sandoval and The Most Extras.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I like Tom, and I like the band,\u201d Cowell explained. \u201cHowever, you know, judging this performance, it didn\u2019t sound great. Look, it might just be me from where I sat, but that did not sound good, I\u2019m afraid. It didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The other judges were much more encouraging about the bands\u2019 future after the performance, though Sofia Vergara<\/a> seemed to understand Cowell\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I loved the dancing. I loved the band. I loved the song,\u201d she said. \u201cThe sound was not amazing, but this was super entertaining.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mel B<\/a>, however, was all smiles when it came to Sandoval\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I said it before, but I\u2019m gonna say it again,\u201d Mel B said. \u201cYou make me smile. You just do. You know what? Yeah, you\u2019re a cover band, but you know what? You just bring a little bit of happiness. And the way that you commit is flawless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Howie Mandel<\/a> said he could see a bright future for the cover band playing weddings and parities.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, your aspirations\u2026. As you said, this is a show of redemption,\u201d Mandel said, referring to the confession Sandoval made during his audition about making how the Scandoval fallout pretty much destroyed\u201d his life. \u201cWhat you want to do is you want to do music. You want to be the most fun cover band, and that\u2019s well worth looking at. I think there are people who are watching who probably want you to play their weddings, their parties, their clubs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Bravo star told Decider<\/a> he was \u201cnervous\u201d about competing on America\u2019s Got Talent, but his cover band has received overwhelming praise since joining the NBC competition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m nervous. I\u2019m excited,\u201d Sandoval said. \u201cI know that the people that are going to be performing in these live shows are all really, really talented. I\u2019m just honored to be among such amazing talent. I\u2019ve never been in this situation before, so it\u2019s a new thing for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, the band\u2019s fate lies in the hands of the viewers.<\/p>\n
