\n Spotify is putting an end to one of the most awkward experiences on Instagram. Until now, whenever you shared a song from the music streaming platform to an Instagram story, you were only getting a quiet poster and no music at all. With Spotify\u2019s latest feature update, that\u2019s about to change.<\/p>\n

The music streaming service announced<\/a> two new integrations with Instagram. One adds audio previews to songs shared to Instagram Stories, and the other allows real-time music sharing in Instagram Notes.<\/p>\n

As the name \u201caudio preview\u201d suggests, when you share a Spotify song, a short audio snippet will be automatically added to your story. That way, your friends will be able to hear what you\u2019re sharing.<\/p>\n

If you stumble upon a shared song that you like, you can tap the song\u2019s title at the top of the story and choose \u201cView Song Details\u201d. That would take you to the song\u2019s page on Instagram, from which you can save the track to your Liked Songs on Spotify.<\/p>\n

The real-time music sharing feature allows you to automatically share what you\u2019re listening to on Spotify directly to Instagram Notes. If you activate the feature while you\u2019re playing music, the note will update right away. If you\u2019re not playing anything, the note will update automatically if you play something within 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

To use the real-time music sharing feature, you must follow the following steps:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

  1. On Instagram, tap Messages on the top right of your feed<\/li>\n
  2. Tap Note… above your profile picture on top of your messages\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. Tap the symbol when creating a note<\/li>\n
  4. If you haven\u2019t linked your Spotify account, tap Link Spotify<\/li>\n
  5. In the audio browser, tap \u201cShare from Spotify.\u201d<\/li>\n
  6. If you want, you can add text to your note<\/li>\n
  7. Tap \u201cShare\u201d to post your note<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Both features are available globally for Spotify and Instagram users on Android and iOS.<\/p>\n

    As someone who listens to a lot of music, I love sharing my favorite discoveries with my friends, including on Instagram. Spotify\u2019s sharing options were already ahead of all other music streaming services, but this makes it all even better. The result is that I have one more reason to stick with Spotify instead of Apple Music, even if I\u2019m looking for a way out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
