One of Columbia’s most respected musical institutions officially kicks off its new season Sunday, Aug. 24, when the “We Always Swing” Jazz Series hosts a launch party on The Roof atop The Broadway hotel.<\/p>\n

Sunday evening’s shindig features live music from hometown big band the Columbia Jazz Orchestra as well as raffles, door prizes and food and beverages available for purchase.<\/p>\n

Going strong for more than 30 years \u2014 this, indeed, is the Jazz Series’ 31st season \u2014 “We Always Swing” consistently programs standouts of the sound in both intimate and sprawling arrangements. Every season, shows take place at stalwart restaurant Murry’s and also in venues such as The Blue Note, University of Missouri and more.<\/p>\n
