With a more Americana-inspired vibe, Pillsbury\u2019s latest album Kansas Anymore represents a departure from his typical indie-alternative and R&B sound. He\u2019s currently on his No Place Like tour, and his track \u201cSally, When the Wine Runs Out\u201d has taken on a life of its own thanks to playful stage moments in which Pillsbury brings out a new \u201cSally\u201d at each venue to dance with him. From Natalie Portman<\/span><\/a> and Kate Hudson to Rene\u00e9 Rapp, Troye Sivan and Olivia Rodrigo<\/span><\/a>, a host of celebrities have stepped into the role of Sally during the tour.<\/div>\n

Pillsbury was born in Portland, Maine, to a father who worked as a property appraiser and a mother who was a special-education teacher.<\/p>\n

In a 2019 interview with DIY, Pillsbury recalled being obsessed with Elvis Presley as a toddler and performing for his family dressed as the \u201cBurning Love\u201d singer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was seven or eight, I used to dress up like Elvis on holidays and perform with my aunt in front of my whole family,\u201d he said. \u201cI had an obsession with him \u2013 posters, lunchboxes, giant cut-outs and all.\u201d<\/p>\n
