After her turn on Dancing With the Stars<\/em> last year, Ilona Maher doesn\u2019t seem to be done with Hollywood just yet.<\/p>\n The rugby star and Olympic bronze medalist recently revealed to BBC Sport<\/a><\/em> that she\u2019s \u201cbeen approached before by the WWE,\u201d adding that if she joined the wrestling entertainment company, her ring name would be \u201cMaher-vellous.\u201d<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know if I would [go into wrestling]. I should think about it, there is great money in it,\u201d she Maher continued, noting she also has her eyes on the \u201cacting space.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think a\u00a0Dwayne \u2018The Rock\u2019 Johnson,\u00a0John Cena\u00a0progression, I would love to do that,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt would be exciting to see my body type on the screen. I\u2019ll start off small, probably like a hot assassin or something, let\u2019s not get too crazy. I\u2019m not going to be in a rom-com just yet.\u201d<\/p>\n Maher first rose to fame while competing for Team USA during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, using her social media platform to advocate for women of all shapes and sizes. She later competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics<\/a>, taking home a bronze medal, before competing on season 33 of Dancing With the Stars<\/em> with her partner Alan Bersten. They came in second place.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m always just trying to stress that you\u2019re so much more than the stereotypes that sometimes people put you in,\u201d she told The Hollywood Reporter <\/a><\/em>last year. \u201cI\u2019ve always just found it as an athlete, as a female athlete, whatever sport I have played or whatnot\u2026 I was always told you gotta be this and this and this and I was like, well, I don\u2019t feel that way or I\u2019m not that way, but I still love this sport.
