The International District Community Center is kicking off a brand-new music festival to wind down summer.<\/p>\n

I Music Festival, a new family-friendly fundraising event, is designed to raise money to help \u201csustain critical community programming\u201d for the center, according to the press release. The inaugural festival is set to include live music ranging from mariachi to rock, dance performances, local food trucks and vendors and multigenerational activities from 1-8 p.m. on Sept. 6 at the International District Community Center, 3919 Lafayette Road.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the I Music Festival will support the International District Community Center\u2019s year-round programming, which serves hundreds of local families \u2014 such as after-school programming to keep kids safe, job training to help parents advance their careers and community events to celebrate neighbors, according to a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event is free and open to the community, representing the center\u2019s effort to \u201cestablish an annual tradition that highlights the neighborhood\u201d while generating essential operating revenue, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

2:30 p.m. \u2014 Dance Group<\/p>\n

3 p.m. \u2014 Mariachi Sol Jalisciense (Mexican)<\/p>\n

4 p.m. \u2014 Dance Group<\/p>\n

4:30 p.m. \u2013- American Fools Band (John Mellencamp tribute band)<\/p>\n

6 p.m. \u2014 Dance Group<\/p>\n

6:30 p.m. \u2014 Toy Factory<\/p>\n
