Denise Richards<\/strong><\/a> is sharing her side of the story after estranged husband Aaron Phypers<\/strong> filed for divorce.<\/p>\n

Posting a video via her Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, August 21, Richards, 54, admitted her summer had been \u201csh***y\u201d in the wake of her split from Phypers, 52, and described her divorce as a \u201cvery difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the clip, Richards first joked that her summer had been \u201cwonderful,\u201d before candidly sharing, \u201cIt\u2019s actually been sh***y, but I\u2019m gonna pretend like it\u2019s all good. I\u2019ve actually been posting on Instagram like nothing\u2019s going on in my life, and I can\u2019t do that anymore, because there\u2019s something obviously going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to thank her followers for all their support and for sending her well wishes during the emotional time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to, in all seriousness, say that this has been a \u2026 very, very, very difficult time. It\u2019s so hard to go through a divorce,\u201d she said. \u201cMany of you have gone through that. This isn\u2019t my first one, second one, and I never thought I\u2019d get divorced again. This is why I always say never, say never. But I really just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your supportive, kind, thoughtful, encouraging messages, because this has been\u00a0 a very difficult time, and there\u2019s circumstances around my divorce that are difficult to talk about.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDenise Richards\u2019 new reality show will include plenty of surprises \u2014 including an appearance from her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. \u201cNobody has ever seen Charlie and I after our divorce sitting in a room talking,\u201d Richards, 54, revealed on the Tuesday, February 18, episode of Bravo\u2019s \u201cHot Mic\u201d podcast. \u201cI think that\u2019s one of the things [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Richards added that she plans to one day open up more about her marriage breakdown, but is prioritizing \u201cprocessing\u201d the divorce first.<\/p>\n

Phypers filed for divorce<\/a> from Richards on July 7, after six years of marriage. In court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/em>, he listed the pair\u2019s date of separation as July 4 and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.<\/p>\n

While Phypers noted that he and Richards do not have any minor children, he did list her youngest daughter, Eloise, as his stepchild in the court docs. (Richards is also mom of daughters Sami and Lola, whom she welcomed with ex-husband<\/a> Charlie Sheen<\/strong> in 2004 and 2005, respectively.)<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to Richards and Phypers for comment at the time.<\/p>\n

Weeks later, Richards filed for a restraining order against Phypers and claimed that he was physically abusive throughout their six-year marriage.<\/p>\n

She claimed in court documents: \u201cThroughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bravo star further claimed that Phypers \u201cregularly threatened\u201d physical violence and \u201ccaused\u201d her to have three concussions.<\/p>\n

\u201cAaron repeatedly got within two inches of my face and screamed at me degrading profanities, including calling me a \u2018c*** whore\u2019 and a \u2018piece of s***,\u2019\u201d Richards alleged in her motion, accusing Phypers of repeated abuse throughout the course of their marriage.<\/p>\n

Phypers denied Richards\u2019 accusations<\/a>, telling Us <\/i>in a statement that her claims were \u201cconjured up\u201d and that he has \u201cthe real evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richards and Phypers tied the knot in September 2018. In an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em> the following year, she opened up about how the pair first crossed paths.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I met him at his center doing DNA repair, anti-aging and that sort of thing,\u201d she explained in 2019. \u201cThen, one time we had sex in one of his rooms. We\u2019ve been inseparable ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later that year, Richards revealed her first impression of Phypers during a March 2019 episode of the Bravo show. \u201cI thought he was cute and I wanted to f*** him,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI just wanted to have sex with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
