Alan Jackson wrapped up his touring career earlier this year in Milwaukee in a show that featured several emotional moments. <\/p>\n
\u201cY\u2019all may have heard that I\u2019m winding down,\u201d the country music legend told the crowd. \u201cIn fact, this is my last road show we\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPreciate y\u2019all,\u201d Jackson finally said. \u201cY\u2019all gonna make me tear up out here.\u201d<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when Jackson dropped a bit of a surprise.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will say, this is my last road show out here, but we are planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer,\u201d he said. \u201cJust felt like I had to end it all where it all started, and that\u2019s in Nashville, Tennessee. Music City. I got to do my last one there. This is the last one out on the road for me. It\u2019s been a long, sweet ride.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jackson then told a little bit of the story of his struggle to make it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt started 40 years ago this September,\u201d he said. \u201cMy wife and I drove to Nashville with an old U-Haul trailer chasing the dream, and it has been a crazy ride. Lived the American Dream for sure, and I\u2019m so blessed, and thank y\u2019all so much for all of your support, coming to the shows.\u201d<\/p>\n
When Jackson ended the show, he addressed the crowd once more.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just want to say thanks to y\u2019all once again,\u201d he said. \u201cY\u2019all have been a wonderful crowd here tonight. I can\u2019t think of a better way to end my touring career out here with y\u2019all. Wonderful crowd. God bless you. Appreciate you.<\/p>\n
\u201cMaybe I\u2019ll see y\u2019all again one day.\u201d<\/p>\n
While it is sad that Jackson is stepping away, he is doing it for health reasons and to be with family. And, in the end, he did pretty, darned well for himself to put himself in position to able to make the move. <\/p>\n
