The semifinal round of voting to determine\u00a0Elvis Presle<\/a>y’s best song has come to a close, and we’re down to just two tunes.<\/p>\n As part of the recent Elvis Week<\/a> festivities, The Commercial Appeal decided to turn to you, our readers\/Elvis fans, to determine the top track by the\u00a0King of Rock \u2018n\u2019 Roll<\/a>.<\/p>\n Adopting a March Madness-style competition to determine Elvis’ best track, we started with 32 songs facing off<\/a> in randomly generated matchups. The first several rounds saw some close battles, while the quarterfinals generated rather more lopsided wins. The semifinals continued that trend with a couple runaway winners.<\/p>\n ELVIS PRESLEY IN HIS OWN WORDS: <\/strong>The King on music, movies, Memphis and more<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Here’s how the semifinal round played out.<\/p>\n \u201cCan\u2019t Help Falling in Love\u201d more than doubled the vote total of \u201cAre You Lonesome Tonight.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n \u201cSuspicious Minds\u201d scored an impressive, though not quite as dramatic, margin of victory against \u201cLove Me Tender.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n ‘AT HOME WITH ELVIS PRESLEY’: <\/strong>The King shared glimpse into his life and Graceland in 1965<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n The two winning songs will now face off in the finals. Finals voting will open up on Aug. 25 and will close at noon Aug. 28.
