However, in 2022, author <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/culture\/culture-news\/roxane-gay-removes-podcasts-spotify-misinformation-1294457\/\">Roxane Gay<\/a> and rock icons <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/neil-youngs-spotify-joe-rogan-music-down-1291062\/\">Neil Young<\/a> and Joni Mitchell moved to remove their works from Spotify in light of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/india-arie-spotify-joe-rogan-interview-1299169\/\">misinformation<\/a> spread by the platform\u2019s massive Joe Rogan Experience podcast (Young and Mitchell\u2019s music have since <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rock\/joni-mitchell-catalog-back-spotify-neil-young-return-rogan-1235639372\/\" target=\"_blank\">returned)<\/a>. Then, this summer, bands <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/deerhoof-quitting-spotify-ceo-ai-battle-tech-investment-1235375712\/\">Deerhoof <\/a>and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/au.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/king-gizzard-lizard-wizard-leave-spotify-80607\/\">King Gizzard &amp; the Lizard Wizard<\/a> pulled their catalogues, citing Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek\u2019s nearly $700 million investment in defense company Helsing, which makes military drones and AI defense software. \u201cWe don\u2019t want our music killing people,\u201d Deerhoof said in a statement. \u201cWe don\u2019t want our success being tied to AI battle tech.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAlongside Hotline TNT\u2019s no-more-Spotify announcement, the band shared plans for a 24-hour live stream on Twitch, YouTube, and Instagram, starting on Sept. 5 at noon ET, telethon style.
