James Gunn<\/a> has clarified some DCU<\/a> timeline business following the premiere of Peacemaker Season 2<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n The first episode of Peacemaker Season 2 is now available to stream on HBO Max<\/a>. While the first season served as an extension of the DCEU<\/a>, which ended with 2023\u2019s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the new season exists within Gunn and Peter Safran\u2019s DCU, which officially launched in 2024 with Creature Commandos.<\/p>\n The first season recap that happens at the start of Peacemaker Season 1 noticeably switches out the DCEU\u2019s Justice League for the DCU\u2019s Justice Gang; meaning the silhouettes of Mister Terrific, Superman, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Supergirl are all seen.<\/p>\n One person who appears to be missing from the line-up is Metamorpho, as the character played by Anthony Carrigan joined the Justice Gang at the end of Gunn\u2019s Superman.<\/p>\n When asked why Metamorpho isn\u2019t in the recap, Gunn said on Threads<\/a>, \u201cThe previously section happens before Superman.\u201d This means that the first season of Peacemaker<\/a> is officially set before Superman, while the second season takes place after the events of the first DCU movie.<\/p>\n New episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 will continue to be released on Thursdays.
