The launch date for the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> has been announced \u2013 and fans don\u2019t have much longer left to wait for its return. <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s series will kick off on Saturday 20 September with the BBC dance competition<\/a>\u2019s usual pre-recorded launch programme<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Celebrity contestants, including Dani Dyer, Alex Kingston and YouTube star George Clarke, will be paired up with their professional dance partners<\/a> during the launch episode, as well as showing off their moves in a group dance ahead of their first official routine. <\/p>\n

Saturday live shows will kick off a week later and the first Sunday results programme will air on Sunday, 5 October, where the first celebrity to leave the show will be announced. <\/p>\n

The BBC has also revealed that the Strictly Come Dancing final will take place days before Christmas on Saturday 20 December. <\/p>\n

Additionally Strictly\u2019s famous Blackpool week, which takes place in the seaside town\u2019s iconic Tower Ballroom, has been scheduled for Saturday 22 November. <\/p>\n

All of the 15 celebrities taking part in this year\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing competition have now been revealed. <\/p>\n

Love Island winner Dani Dyer, Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison<\/a> and rugby player Chris Robshaw are all among this year\u2019s contestants. <\/p>\n

They are joined by TikTok personality George Clarke, Gladiators<\/a> star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, ER actor Alex Kingston and Dutch footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. <\/p>\n

Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn, former England footballer Karen Carney and Good Morning Britain presenter Ross King will also be taking to the dancefloor. <\/p>\n

One 2025 celebrity who\u2019s sparked online backlash ahead of the new series is former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner<\/a>, who recently met US vice president JD Vance<\/a> for a barbecue and drinks. <\/p>\n

Social media personality Thomas Skinner has already sparked online backlash following his casting (BBC)<\/span><\/div>\n

The social media personality befriended US President Donald Trump\u2019s number two on X\/Twitter after claiming he had received \u201cdeath threats\u201d following a series of posts<\/a> about the state of the UK. <\/p>\n

Skinner said on social media that it\u2019s \u201cnot far-right\u201d to be \u201cflying your flag and loving your country\u201d and complained \u201cit ain\u2019t safe out there anymore\u201d in London, claiming the city is \u201chostile\u201d and \u201ctense\u201d. <\/p>\n

The Independent<\/a>\u2019s Rachel McGrath wrote that Skinner\u2019s casting \u201cdoesn\u2019t feel right\u201d and questioned the BBC\u2019s decision to \u201cintentionally sign someone so divisive\u201d. <\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201cStrictly is now waltzing into another series with a controversy on its hands. And fans might be left wondering, whatever happened to the wholesome Saturday night show that was all about the dancing?\u201d <\/p>\n
