Country music legend Bill Anderson has called off a slate of shows, including a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, after he said a freak accident resulted in a nasty injury.<\/p>\n
The 87-year-old has cancelled three shows so far.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a freak accident where I twisted or tore some ligaments or muscles or something in the back of my left leg trying to climb into bed,\u201d Anderson wrote on his website. \u201cAnd I fell to the floor unable to walk. <\/p>\n
\u201cI was in excruciating pain.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anderson was not happy to have to call off the shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you know me, you know how much it bothers me to go back on any commitment I have made,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n
If there is good news it is that he said he feels like he is healing up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI appreciate your concern, but I\u2019m here to let you know I\u2019m fine,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThanks to a bunch of ice packs and pain pills I\u2019m feeling much better today, and hopefully this will all be behind me shortly. <\/p>\n
