When I saw him speaking last year, actor Josh Radnor shared how much he loved the \u201cTalmudic experience\u201d of immersing himself in Jewish literature while preparing to star in the play \u201cThe Ally.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n And so it\u2019s especially exciting for him \u2014 and us \u2014 that Radnor, who also starred in the excellent Holocaust action series \u201cHunters,\u201d will be unpacking Jewish art and writing in a new show and podcast coming to JLTV<\/a> called \u201cThe People of the Book.\u201d<\/p>\n In the series, premiering in late 2025, Radnor will interview Jewish authors and celebrities about their books and lives, discussing everything from food to spirituality.<\/p>\n Radnor, who is best known for the iconic role of Ted Mosby in \u201cHow I Met Your Mother,\u201d was raised Jewish in Bexley, Ohio, where he attended Jewish day school and belonged to a Conservative Jewish synagogue. In 1997, he traveled to Israel as part of an Israel Experience trip and visited the Western Wall. \u201cI had this very emotional response,\u201d he told Playbill.<\/a> \u201cBeing there [in Israel] for six weeks really shifted something for me in terms of my identity, my feeling of connection with the religion, the history, and the culture.\u201d The actor, musician and director of the films \u201cHappythankyoumoreplease\u201d and \u201cLiberal Arts\u201d got married to his bashert, Dr. Jordana Jacobs, under a chuppah in early 2024.<\/a> He pens a newsletter on Substack called Museletters<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHis intellectual curiosity, deep appreciation for literature, and passion for the Jewish experience makes him an ideal host for this unique series, an intimate, in-studio deep dive with Jewish authors, exploring what makes them tick,\u201d Rabbi Mark Blazer, the Executive Director of the Jewish Life Foundation who is producing the show, shared in a press release.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a time of rising anti-Semitism and boycotting of Jewish authors and artists, The People of the Book offers an uplifting celebration of Jewish culture and storytelling,\u201d the show\u2019s producer (and Kveller contributor<\/a>) Amy Klein added.<\/p>\n I can\u2019t wait to hear Radnor\u2019s deep dives into Jewish literature and Jewish life in this new show.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\tCan we ask?\t\t\t<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\tIt’s important to us to keep the warm, joyfully Jewish community on Kveller accessible for all.
