If you\u2019ve gotten to the end of the celebrity.land Original Series \u201cAmerican Prince: JFK Jr.\u201d<\/a> and want more, there\u2019s a lavish dramatic retelling of his life, love and tragic death coming, but you\u2019ll have to wait a bit.<\/p>\n In the tradition of his Emmy-winning anthologies \u201cAmerican Horror Story\u201d and \u201cAmerican Crime Story,\u201d TV dynamo Ryan Murphy<\/a> will next year unveil \u201cAmerican Love Story,\u201d focusing on John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Carolyn Bessette. It\u2019s another in-depth exploration of a headline-grabbing story from 1990s-era America; Murphy\u2019s \u201cCrime Story\u201d anthology has so far explored the stories of the O.J. Simpson trial, the assassination of Gianni Versace, and the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal. He also explored the Menendez brothers double-murder trial in his \u201cMonsters\u201d anthology.<\/p>\n \u201cAmerican Love Story\u201d is set to explore the couple\u2019s courtship and marriage, as well as their tragic deaths in a 1999 plane crash off of Martha\u2019s Vineyard, according to IMDb. Here\u2019s what else we know about the series so far.<\/p>\n The show will feature a cast portraying some of the most iconic personalities of the last century, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, mother to JFK Jr. The former first lady will be played by Naomi Watts, who previously collaborated with Murphy on his \u201cFeud: Capote vs. the Swans\u201d series.<\/p>\n Another notable name that comes up is Grace Gummer, Meryl Streep\u2019s daughter, who will portray JFK Jr.\u2019s sister Caroline Kennedy.<\/p>\n As for the central couple, JFK Jr. will be played by relatively unknown actor Paul Anthony Kelly, whose sole prior credit is a 2010 television series titled \u201cBody Language.\u201d Carolyn Bessette will be portrayed by Sarah Pidgeon, who previously acted in \u201cThe Wilds\u201d and \u201cTiny Beautiful Things\u201d and is featured in this summer\u2019s horror reboot \u201cI Know What You Did Last Summer.\u201d<\/p>\n Other famed personalities in the series will include Calvin Klein, to be played by Alessandro Nivola, and Edwin Schlossberg, who will be played by \u201cAngels in America\u201d star Ben Shenkman.<\/p>\n Very much mirroring the insane scrutiny that the featured couple had to endure during their lifetimes, various photos from the production of \u201cAmerican Love Story\u201d caused quite the media stir earlier this summer, when everything from Pidgeon\u2019s costumes<\/a> to hair color received ample criticism<\/a>.<\/p>\n Bessette-Kennedy was a style maven in the \u201990s, and all eyes are on the character\u2019s looks in the finished show. Things reached a fever pitch when her former colorist spoke to Vogue<\/a> about Pidgeon\u2019s hair color being \u201ctotally wrong.\u201d Even Murphy himself spoke up about it all, telling Variety<\/a> in June, \u201cCarolyn Bessette is clearly a religious figure and it\u2019s a religion of her own.
