Borella reportedly collapsed on set while the series was filming season five in Venice, Italy, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.<\/p>\n
More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the Emily in Paris production family,\u201d a Paramount Television Studios spokesperson said in a statement to THR. \u201cOur hearts go out to the individual\u2019s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n Borella was pronounced dead at around 7:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, Aug. 21, according to multiple outlets. The tragedy happened while the crew was preparing to film a final scene inside Hotel Danieli in Venice. Medical staff was sent to try to revive Borella; however, he died at the scene of \u201ca sudden heart attack,\u201d the\u00a0La Repubblica<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Netflix unveiled the first-look images<\/a> at Emily in Paris season five, which stars Lily Collins and will release on the streamer on Dec. 18.<\/p>\n The synopsis reads: \u201cNow the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships.
