On an episode of their podcast, Symon\u00e9 and Maday spoke with guest Robby Hoffman about a range of different topics, including money. During the conversation, Symon\u00e9 revealed that one of the reasons she was excited to tie the knot with her wife was because she was “marrying rich.”<\/p>\n

Clearly surprised, Hoffman asked Symon\u00e9 to clarify, stating, “But you’re rich,” to which Maday added, “But not as rich as me.”<\/p>\n

Maday, who first met Symon\u00e9 at a bar in West Hollywood in 2015, went on to explain that part of the reason she believes she has to fight so hard to defend her relationship with Symon\u00e9 is because so many people assume she married the “That’s So Raven” star for her money.<\/p>\n

That’s when Maday took it a step further and looked into the camera, saying boldly, “I didn’t marry Raven for money, I’m richer.”<\/p>\n

“The emasculation of Raven Symon\u00e9,” a user wrote, while another posted, “Raven still can’t see the jealous, racist enemy right next to her. That is so sad.”<\/p>\n

A third user chimed in and called Symon\u00e9 and Maday’s comments “beyond weird,” and a fourth asserted that their “divorce is gonna be nasty.”<\/p>\n

Over on Instagram, the reaction was much of the same, with several users posting about how ashamed they were of Symon\u00e9’s marriage.<\/p>\n

Symon\u00e9 went on to say that it took her some time to come to terms with the idea of presenting her partners with legally binding documents; however, after understanding her position, she said she realized how important they actually are.<\/p>\n

As for when her previous partners were presented with the paperwork, Symon\u00e9 said it always happened right “before the naughty times come.”<\/p>\n

Symon\u00e9, on the other hand, said that having different spaces has only strengthened her love for her wife.<\/p>\n
