\u201cI find it\u2019s my joy. It\u2019s where certainly some healthy percentage of my joy is a connection to nature. I like to ski. I like to hike or bike ride. We\u2019re in LA now, so there are fire trails everywhere and try to take advantage of those.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that even on days she isn\u2019t motivated, she commits to going.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never, not once been sorry that I did do the class or did hit a hill or something.\u201d<\/p>\n
Duffy says Purl has reshaped his fitness outlook.<\/p>\n
Once a self-described \u201cgym rat,\u201d he now focuses more on cardio and outdoor activity. \u201cI want to maintain the mutual lifestyle of the great outdoors with her. So she\u2019s been a great influence on me in that respect.\u201d<\/p>\n
Both make hydration a priority, carrying water bottles daily. For Duffy, it\u2019s had an unexpected benefit: drinking more water means drinking less alcohol.<\/p>\n
Their final key, Purl said, is humor.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe laugh a lot. We just do,\u201d she said, pointing to comedian George Burns as an example of the power of laughter in long life. \u201cSo I think it was, who knows, genes, luck, resilience, but laughter. So that\u2019s just something that\u2019s a great part of our life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
